Spyware that raises many questions…

Let’s today discuss mobile spyware than one that concerns the computer and the internet…

Companies all over the world, like Cobra Group, Enza Marketing, Sirius Star Marketing etc, tend to be apprehensive of privacy intrusion issues and data stealing related issues that are caused by online spyware. With mobile spyware it’s an individual’s privacy that gets affected.

It was the Thailand based company Flexispy that developed a product named Flexispy that could secretly track calls and texts made to and from a mobile phone. Once it’s installed it traces calls, text messages and also uses the GPS to track a person’s locations. Flexispy was released in 2004. Since then similar products have been launched by many other companies like Mobile Spy and Spyera and have been used worldwide. Such kinds of spyware are used to spy on children, spouse, employees etc.

But the issue that comes up is this- isn’t this violation of privacy. Legal experts all over the world say it definitely amounts to violation of privacy. Authorities in different countries have blocked sales of some of these spywares. But there are cracked versions being sold and there are companies that sell legal versions of the spyware that cannot be installed remotely and which can be used for purposes that are legally allowed.

Still, isn’t it ultimately an intrusion into the privacy of individuals and something that could create issues. Point to be pondered on…
