Android Malware that would record outgoing calls
Here's something for those who use Android smartphones... there is now a malware that can just creep into your phone and result in your calls getting recorded.
An acquaintance of mine, a top marketing guy working with GDS International, almost had this kind of an experience, but timely intervention worked and he was saved from getting many of his business calls recorded. He's still is left wondering who was playing pranks with him.
Yes, it's damn easy for the malware to play pranks with your phone and all your calls. Those who create the malware can embed its code into seemingly normal applications and you won't even know. Such apps can be found in third-party app stores and even manage to slip into the official Android market. One such malware that was detected recently can just creep into your phone and record entire conversations on the phone's SD card in amr format. This recorded conversation may also be sent to a remote server.
As we know all apps need the user's permission to get installed and hence the only way to avoid such malware infection is to read the permissions before installing any application.
